Package Tours

NOW OFFERING.....

Package Tours!  We have heard over and over again that there is a lack of organized tours here in our part of the peninsula and have decided to help fill that void.  With our past experience in the outfitting business, it is only natural for us to offer this service.  We look forward to joining our guests on a lot of excellent adventures!

Package 1:  Two Oceans and an Oasis

Living in the center of the peninsula, North and South, East and West, has given us opportunities that we would not have in such close proximity in other parts of the Baja.  Come join us in our tour to both oceans and this magnificent oasis!   Fly into Loreto where we will meet you and escort you to our accommodations for a 2 night stay.  We will explore the city of Loreto and have a nice meal that night and get a good sleep in preparation for a day on the Sea of Cortez the next morning.

A View of the Sea of Cortez on Bahia Concepcion

Using experienced local pangeros, we will visit Isla Coronado for snorkeling, bird watching and whale watching.  Depending on the time of year, there are many species of whales who visit the Cortez, including Fin whales, Humpbacks, Blue whales, Pilots and Orcas and occasionally, Sperm whales.  Of course the dolphins always like to swim along. If you choose not to go out on the water this day, there is the option of a round of golf at the Nopolo course ( at an additional cost).

From the mesa above San Ignacio, you have great vistas of the mission, the Rio San Ignacio and an opportunity to examine the unique flora of this special part of the Viscaino Biosperical Reserve.

Day three, after breakfast we will begin our 4 hour drive to San Ignacio where we will stop along the beautiful Bahia Concepcion to dip our feet and have a picnic lunch.  We will also visit the historic copper mining town of Santa Rosalia.

The spring is a nice little kayak ride away where the water is warm coming out of the ground, good year round swimming!

We will arrive at Ignacio Springs in time to enjoy a swim or a kayak on the river before a great dinner is served under the stars.

Day 4 we will explore the mission and pueblo and relax in front of the river. For those of you not good at relaxing, this day can be used to do a day trip to the cave paintings of the Sierra San Fansisco (at an additional cost).

Days 5 & 6 will be spent on the Pacific Ocean. If you choose your tour to happen from January through April, we will visit the Laguna San Ignacio for Whale watching with the amazing Gray whales, which travel from the Bering Sea each year to mate and give birth in three lagunas on the Pacific coast of Baja.  We are very fortunate to have the friendliest whales visit our Laguna.  If you are here in the summer, we will visit other spots where we can visit the sea lion colonies, aid in a turtle count, spend a day with a commercial fisherman or sports fish in the abundant waters of the Pacific.

We will spend our final night at the oasis of Ignacio Springs and the morning of day 7 will see us up early to get to the airport for your flights back to the US.

The price per day per person based on double occupancy, is $200 US and includes all meals, accommodations, and transportation.  Not included are additional side trips and gratuities.  Please phone for available dates in 2008!

Package 2:  Cave Painting Tours

Visit the historic rock are of the Sierra San Francisco.  Discover the giant murals of an unknown people.  These artifacts are believed to be unmatched in the new world and are said to be comparable to the Paleolithic cave paintings of Europe.  They are thought to be some of the oldest in the world.  We offer 4 day/3 night excursions where you will ride in on mules, your equipment packed on burros, accompanied by registered INAH guides.  We will provide camping gear, food, permits and transportation from San Ignacio to the Sierra and back, plus one nights accommodations at Ignacio Springs either at the beginning of your trip, or at the end.  You will need to supply your own sleeping mat and bag as well as a flashlight and your personal effects.  Cost per person is $195 US per day per person, 4 people minimum.

It takes about 2 hours to drive out to the jumping off point by vehicle.  Then comes the job of loading all  the gear on the burros and getting the mules saddled up and adjusted for each rider.  These photos were taken after the September rains and the desert is very beautiful.

The campsite that we prefer is close to a creek and offers access to several different caves either by hiking or on the mules.  There is even a petroglyph close by.

The rewards for your hard work!
