Ignacio Springs is a Bed & Breakfast that offers unique accommodations in Mongolian style individual yurts in a beautiful palm grove on the banks of the spring fed Rio San Ignacio. This is a true oasis in the middle of the desert offering all the personal touches to make you feel at home. In addition to your great breakfast, there is a small Bistro on site which offers excellent baking as well as assorted beverages, Espresso and cappucino. Home-cooked dinners are available with reservations in advance. We now have Wireless Internet! We are a full service destination resort where meals are prepared, housekeeping is provided and many excellent recreational activates abound. Within our paradise you can: v Pick fresh dates from the palms outside your window v Swim in the sweet water on the private dock v Fish for tilapia and carp practically from your doorstep v Several Kayaks and 2 slightly larger boats are provided for you to paddle to the springs where the river starts. The temperature of the water here is good for year round swimming. v Explore the 18th century aqueduct built by the missionaries to supply water to the town site. v Excellent bird watching including several different herons, kingfishers, egrets, cormorants, coots, osprey and eagles. v The Mission is one of the oldest and best maintained in Baja and still offers regular services and has an excellent Museum. v Take a walk to explore the plaza and the quaint Mexican pueblo. Maps of hiking trails are available. Local amenities include: v The Catholic Mission (1726) and its complete museum, located in the town square. v World class whale watching from Laguna San Ignacio on the Pacific where the friendliest gray whales in Baja come to mate and give birth. v Blue water angling on either the Sea of Cortez or the Pacific Ocean with local Pangeros. During your stay with us you can expect to: v Sleep wonderfully on our comfortable beds v Enjoy a Canadian style breakfast with homemade fare v Enjoy our very clean central shower facility with constant hot water and great art work or your own ensuite bathroom in one of the new yurts. We are extremely close to several popular destinations as well. In a 45 minute drive you can visit the old mining town of Santa Rosalia on the Sea of Cortez and in 1 ½ hours, you can be at the Pacific, either at the Laguna San Ignacio or Punta Abreojos. Ignacio Springs has become the perfect stopover for those traveling to and from San Jaunico, Los Cabos and the Cape regions. They tell us it is like coming home! Prices (all prices are in Mexican Pesos and are per night) Stay 7 nights for the price of 6! Visa and MasterCard accepted. All prices are for one or two people and include a full breakfast in the morning as well as the use of the kayaks and boats on the river. All units have air conditioners or evaporative coolers, microwaves or kettles. All units have their own patios and there is a communal use area at the river. Prices do not include the 10% federal tax or the 3 % hospitality tax. A deposit of 50% is required to secure all reservations. We have 2 16' yurts, one with a king bed and one overlooking the water with a double bed. They both share the central shower and bathroom facility and rent for $565 pesos ($621.50 with tax). The 24' yurt is very popular for groups that don't want to share beds, or families. This one has a few more amenities and is very comfortable for longer stays. It has a queen bed, a double and a futon that makes into a double as well as space for extra cots. The price is $660 pesos ($745.80). There is an additional person charge. The palapa casa is right next to the river and has a queen bed, a fire pit and it's own bathroom. The price for this one is $725 ($807.95). Our 20' yurt has a king bed and a very nice bathroom as well. There is also a futon that can be made into a double if 2 beds are required. The price is $825 ($932.25). We have a very specail 16' yurt with it's own bathroom and a comfy queen bed that will make you feel like you are in Africa. The price of this one is $770 ($870.10) pesos. A good budget family option is our small casita which has a queen bed, a double, and microwave. This unit also shares the central bathroom facility. The cost for one or two people is $550 ($621.50). Fall of 2006 brought about the addition of "La Muralla" to our rental line-up. This is a small house with a little sitting room, a huge bedroom with 2 queen beds and a hide-a-bed, plus a nice bathroom. This one rents for $770 ($870.10) pesos for one or two people. Latest addition to the rental line-up is our top of the line China Wall yurt. This is a 24' yurt with the bathroom inside, a king bed and nice sitting area, private patio with access to a private beach area. Very cool and confortable! There is a hot tub on the patio for relaxing after a long day. This units rents for $1500 pesos taxes included. Additional person charges are as follows: (6 and under are free) 7-12 years are $100 ($113) pesos each. 13 years and over are $150 ($169.50) pesos each. Cancellation PolicyFor reservations made for the months of November through April, July & August, and cancelled more than 30 days prior, a $250 pesos per room fee applies. For reservations cancelled within 30 days prior, you will lose your 50% deposit for the first night. For cancellations 3 days or less prior , the penalty is the full cost of your first night plus your 50% deposit on the balance of your cancelled days, plus tax. Exceptions do apply during holidays, Baja 1000 and whale season.
